Park Road Villa - Carterton - Inside!

Here's some pics of the inside - needs some maintenance, starting with the windows in our room - Bora!
Nick lifted one of the windows the other day and the bottom just fell away - we are getting three sash windows replaced in our room in December - that's going to be costly!

As you can see the house is big and can get very cold - we experienced this the first weekend we arrived and immediately ordered a cord of wood - a week later and Summer arrived and now we're baking at 24 C!

We have  put in the HRV system (of course) which has made a huge difference and also just had insulation put under the house and in the roof so this will make it warmer too and keep out the draughts!

It's got good bones but everything needs attention, some areas are crying out for some love - I have to be  patient, I have to be patient - I keep trying to remind myself as I work from home and potter around the garden noticing all the work that needs doing both inside and out.

But, we are loving it - we lose each other in the house and in the garden - the kids love being able to cycle all the way around the house and find wee hideouts in the garden.  We have planted our veggie garden so we'll have our own tomatoes, lettuces, peppers, chillies (!), courguettes, leeks, beetroot, spinach....we also have an established raspberry patch, some fejoia trees, grape vine and strawberry patch!

So, when are you all coming to visit?

Looking forward to seeing you soon.
